The Catalysts Annual Registration Morning will be held on Thursday 11th September from 10.30am.
It will be held in The Catalysts Meeting Room in The Catacombs beneath Calry Church, The Mall, Sligo.
The Catalysts Group provides ‘Activity in Body, Mind and Spirit’ for the over 50’s in Sligo and the surrounding area.
All the activities are voluntary, but you must be a Catalysts Member to take part in them.
The Monday Walking Group, for which there is a separate programme, meets every week, except in cases of extreme weather. They are a very friendly group, as are all the Catalysts. The only criterion for getting out to blow the cobwebs away is that you are a Registered Member of The Catalysts.
The Catalysts continue to offer classes for which our members have expressed an interest.
For the Autumn Term, this only includes our Art Classes, but we may be able to re-introduce Creative Writing Classes and Flower Arranging in the future, if there is sufficient interest
The Tuesday Art Class will be meeting from 16th September until the 9th December, with one break, for the half term holidays.
The classes will be led by two very experienced art teachers and the fee will be €100 for a total of 12 classes.
The Thursday Talks are very varied and given by a wide range of speakers. The talks cover things historical, environmental, health and well being, to name but a few topics. Members are also encouraged to share their own life experiences and interests.
Two or three times each year, Catalysts Members are invited on Day Trips to places of interest, both locally and further afield. For example, this year they visited Enniskillen and toured Castlecoole, together with a boat trip to Devenish Island.
In the coming Autumn Term, plans are being made for a tour of Drumcliffe Church followed by lunch in The Pink Clover Tea Rooms.
The Catalysts play Boules at Mitchell Curley Park in Sligo each Summer, when their normal meeting room isn’t available.
Coffee, cake and a good chin-wag, usually follows most Catalysts events, so it is a great way to meet new friends and get to know more about Co Sligo.
We hope you will decide to join us and we look forward to meeting you!
